Earthstorm Adds to Stakes Record
Ruby Racing and Breeding graduate Earthstorm added a fourth stakes placing with a tough third in the Listed Sheila Gwynne Classic at Ascot.

Earthstorm has added another valuable black type result to her record, finishing a tough third in the Listed Sheila Gwynne Classic over 1400 metres at Ascot.
The race was won by consistent five-year-old Rissoles, who claimed her first stakes victory, with London’s Image second and Earthstorm again right in the finish for Russell Stewart. The placing continued a career built on honesty at the right level and lifted Earthstorm to four stakes placings.
Offered by Ruby Racing and Breeding as Lot 60 at the 2023 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, the Calyx mare was purchased by Stewart Racing for $60,000. She has now earned close to $300,000, with her black type record including placings in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate, Listed Supremacy Stakes, Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes and Listed Sheila Gwynne Classic.
Results like this are exactly what the Ruby programme aims to produce: sound, progressive graduates with the constitution to keep turning up and the quality to keep adding commercial value after they leave the farm.
