Earthstorm Fights to 2nd in the Karrakatta

2023 graduate Earthstorm (Calyx × Bombay f) has completed her 2-year-old preparation, stamping herself as the best 2YO filly in the state with a game second to the year’s dominant gelding Bustling.

Earthstorm — purchased for $60,000 by Stewart Racing — remains a maiden, however all runs this preparation have netted valuable black type placings. Following a close 2nd in the Supremacy, the filly backed it up with a come-from-behind 3rd in the Gimcrack and a 2nd in the Grand Final for 2YOs Karrakatta Plate at G2 level.

She heads to the paddock the only horse to place in all three stakes races in the lead-up and in the Karrakatta — pushing her earnings to $150,000 and retaining great future value as a broodmare given her long female family line.

She will be targeted at the spring fillies events with options of Placid Ark or Champion Fillies for her selection.
