Now standing at Newgate Farm — service fee $16,500. Leading the Australian first-season sire table by earnings (January 2026).

Bred and sold by Ruby Racing and Breeding through Tyreel Farm at the COVID-affected Inglis Easter Yearling Sale of 2020 for $255,000 to the Newgate Colts Syndicate.

A Group 2 winner of the BRC Sires Produce, Group 3 winner of the Up and Coming Stakes, and Group 1 placed in the JJ Atkins, Tiger of Malay was a top-line colt across a deep three-year-old division — competitive in the Caulfield Guineas, Golden Rose and racing against the likes of Anamoe, Overpass, In The Congo, Stay Inside, Ingratiating, Paulele, Converge, Captivant, Artorius, Mazu and Hitotsu. Career earnings just over $1,000,000.

Now retired to stud at Newgate Farm at $16,500 — leading the Australian first-season sire table by earnings as at January 2026, ahead of stallions standing at vastly higher fees including Home Affairs ($110k), Stay Inside ($66k), Wild Ruler, St Mark’s Basilica, Pinatubo, Portland Sky, Acrobat, Captivant and Sword of State. He is outperforming his modest fee in the Hunter Valley against far less opportunity than his barn mates and fellow first-season competitors.

A homebred carrying the 2OB brand, Tiger of Malay is a half-brother to Samizdat and Samovare, with deeper family including Denman, Kiamichi, Taj Rossi and Dark Queen — proof the female line travels far beyond Western Australia. Ruby Racing supports him heavily and returns the progeny to the WA market through the 2026 draft.
